Your story is a lifeline.
And we are listening.

Join Betty for The Caregiver's Cup of Tea, a 7-minute mini-podcast sharing the real voices of the “silent majority” — to remind exhausted caregivers that they are not alone, and to offer companionship on the journey.

No experience needed.

Just come as you are.

THE MISSION

From Unseen Struggles to Deeply Valued Voices.

Betty's mission is to give a voice to the unseen and unheard family caregivers. Those who give selflessly, often without receiving. Who put their own hopes and dreams on hold so that others can reach for theirs. Who accept their daily tasks without complaint simply because there is one whose need is so much greater than their own right now, and they know that they could never pass that responsibility onto a stranger.

An invitation to be heard

Caregiving often feels like an invisible role. The world keeps turning, while you navigate the exhausting dual-shift of your own life and someone else's, often feeling like nobody outside of your home truly understands the daily challenges you face.

Betty's mission is to give a voice to the unseen and unheard family caregivers. This isn't about having all the answers or being a polished expert. We are looking for everyday caregivers to join Betty as guests. You don't need to prepare anything, and you don't need to be a practised speaker. This is simply a space where you can be exactly who you are; a safe harbour to share your reality. By doing so, you remind another exhausted caregiver that what they do matters, and that they matter, too.

This conversation may be for you if you...

  • Are a family member or friend looking after a loved one without being paid.

  • Feel your world has shrunk and you have no time to go out with friends or pursue your hobbies.

  • Are constantly worried that your loved one is okay and comfortable.

  • Notice your own health suffering because you are constantly looking after another, perhaps skipping meals or not taking exercise.

How it works

Two questions. One mission.

01

We meet together over Zoom,

A short, gentle link arrives in your inbox. No tech wizardry required.

02

Cameras off when we record

For your comfort and privacy. It's just two voices, sharing a cup of tea.

03

A heartfelt 7 minutes

Two simple questions. Honest answers. Sharing what matters. That's all.

The Hidden Struggle

What is one hidden challenge of caregiving that you wish more people understood?

This gives you space to talk about the daily challenges you face; anything that has caused your world to shrink, or made it difficult to find time to care for your own health or pursue your own hobbies.

Question 1 of 2

The Magic Wand

If you had a magic wand and could change one single thing to improve your daily life right now, what would it be?

(For example: "to get a full night's sleep", "to have time to eat a proper meal", or "to have 10 minutes to sit in the garden alone").

Question 2 of 2

Each conversation is approximately 7 minutes

You Choose: On Camera or Off Camera

Your comfort matters. You can choose to be:

On Camera:

Join Betty face-to-face

for a more personal connection.

Off Camera:

Share your voice only, maintaining your privacy

while still contributing your beautiful truth.

Why take part?

“I struggle with that too” can be a lifeline.

When one caregiver speaks honestly, another exhales. That's the quiet magic of shared humanity — feeling heard, feeling seen, feeling companioned through a journey that can otherwise feel terribly lonely.

Betty's promise to you

At the end of every recording, Betty leads a gentle 30-second “Shoulder Drop and Breathe” grounding exercise — a small ritual designed to restore calm, ease the weight you carry, and send you back into your day a little softer.

Drop your shoulders. Breathe in. Breathe out. You did beautifully.

Your host

Meet Betty

My name is Betty, and I know exactly what it feels like to carry the heavy, hidden burden of caregiving. As a fellow caregiver who has navigated the exhausting "dual-shift" of managing my own life alongside complex caring duties, I understand the deep isolation and the quiet guilt that so often accompany this role.

I founded the Family Caregivers Community because I realised that the "silent majority" of unpaid carers desperately needed a safe harbour. We needed a place to talk to people who truly get it, where we can share our realities without any fear of judgement. I know firsthand that you cannot pour from an empty cup, and my golden rule for all of us is simple: no self-criticism allowed.

Through The Caregiver's Cup of Tea, I am here to listen to your story and gently remind us all, that looking after our own well-being is a necessity, not a luxury.

Why?

Because we matter, too.
